Headlight helps website owners check the DNS starting point of a connection. We focus on website names, IPv4 and IPv6 addresses, www aliases and nameservers so you can collect useful information before contacting your hosting provider.

DNS is the start of the connection, not the whole journey. A clear sequence helps avoid misleading conclusions.

Where the answers come from
The Headlight server sends queries to Google Public DNS. The interface presents each answer’s name, type, data and TTL. Downloaded files contain the results already displayed on the page and do not trigger another lookup.
What this service does not do
We do not manage your domain, request your DNS account password or modify any records. We do not promise worldwide propagation coverage, automatic repairs or availability of the services behind a domain.
